Another competitor at the Susquehanna Music and Arts Festival – Julie Clark. One of only two people I’ve ever seen perform with a little miked footpad for percussion (the other being Dave Pahanish). Her bass player, Jess Willoughby, was simply awesome. We ended up out in the fields after the context playing songs to one another and trading admiration for one another’s playing styles.

Heather and I are working and watching. Justin has brought home his video camera, and trapped within it are hours of ilyAIMY performances. He promises to learn how to create an escape path to his computer sometime this week, but in the meantime Heather and I engage in ego and take pleasure out of doing what you guys get to do all the time… sit back and just watch us play. There are moments when I’ve got to sit back and say “damn”, I really AM a bad-ass on that guitar… but there are other moments where I’ve got to say “oh my, that wiggle was indeed silly”. Sigh. Video don’t lie!

Danielle Miraglia took third place at the Susquehanna Music and Arts Festival (that’s what I got last year). I’ve met her MANY times and each time I get tongue-tied and twisted (the way I want to be) and say something dumb like “you have GREAT hair!” Finally, I’ve seen her perform and can say something a little bit FREAKIN more intelligent! Her combination of beauty and growl and intricate guitar style really Live up to her reputation.
